Kasilof River Sockeye Salmon Fishing Trips

 Kasilof Sockeye Salmon
-June/July-

We offer guided drift boat trips on the upper and lower Kasilof River in June and July for sockeye salmon.  The Kasilof sees one primary run of sockeye salmon and they arrive in excellent numbers starting early to mid June.  On many years, this return remains strong beyond the seasonal peak in mid July.  The most popular float for Kasilof sockeye begins on the upper Kasilof just below Tustamena Lake and ends at the Sterling Highway bridge.  This extremely scenic drift takes you through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and includes minor rapids and whitewater along the way.  There are a number of very strategic gravel bars we pull over to fish for the migrating sockeye.  Catching these ocean fresh salmon on light tackle is very exciting.  The limit is three fish per person, per day.
