Alaska Fishing Boat Launches

This Alaska fishing boat launch is located in Anchor Point and is commonly used by our halibut captains if they are not able to meet you at their place of business. From Soldotna, travel South on the Sterling Hwy towards Homer (approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes). You will take a right on the Old Sterling Hwy (before you cross the Anchor River) and follow the signs to the launch site at the end of the road.

Travel North on the Sterling Hwy toward the town of Sterling (heading toward Anchorage). Travel through the town of Sterling and upon departing, look for a sign on the right that says “State Recreation Area” Bing’s Landing. Turn right and travel 1.5 miles to the landing. Circle into the parking area and pay your $5 parking fee at the fee booth upon arrival. Walk to the Alaska fishing boat launch to meet your guide.

Travel South on the Sterling Hwy through the town of Soldotna and across the Kenai River Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, take your immediate right at the four-way stoplight on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Take your next immediate right onto Centennial Park. Drive to the end of the road to park your vehicle and walk to the Alaska fishing boat launch to meet your guide. Pay your parking fee on arrival or departure

This Alaska fishing boat launch is located in Deep Creek and is commonly used by our halibut captains if they are not able to meet you at their place of business. From Soldotna, travel South on the Sterling Highway towards Homer (approximately 45 minutes). When you pass through the town of Ninilchik and cross the Deep Creek River be on the lookout for MP137. You will turn right at Wayside Road. You will then make an immediate right into Volcano View RV Resort where you will meet your captain or follow the road directly to the launch site.

Travel South on the Sterling Hwy and turn right at the first four-way stoplight/intersection to the Kenai Spur Hwy. Travel approximately 4-5 miles traveling up and down two gullies. Look for Kenai City Limits and Strawberry Road sign, and next left is Eagle Rock Drive. Park your car and meet your guide near the Alaska fishing boat launch. Make sure you pay your parking fee before you meet your guide.

This is located in Cooper Landing at Mile Post 58 on the Sterling Highway. If traveling from Soldotna, you make a right at Skilak Lake Loop Road (East Junction)) and then take the first left (.1 mile). The first 100 yards will be pavement and then transition into a gravel road. The access road takes you right to the Alaska fishing boat launch on the river. There is a very small signpost for Jim’s Landing.

Travel South on the Sterling Hwy from Soldotna towards Homer. Travel approximately 15 miles and look for the town of Kasilof. Go over the bridge and travel approximately ¾ mile, take a left at the Kasilof River State Recreation Area (Spetz Road) (MP 109.5 and pay your parking fee via the fee booth upon arrival.

Turn on left on East Redoubt (Holiday Gas Station is on the corner). Travel approximately 6 miles down to the very end of the road. Park your vehicle and walk down to the Alaska fishing boat launch to meet your captain. This a public angler access for Alaska fishing and does not require parking fees.

We often meet here for fly-out Alaska fishing trips and then you follow your guide to the flight service. McDonald’s is located to your left on the Kenai Spur Hwy, across from Home Depot. Travel time from Soldotna is approximately 20-25 minutes.

Travel South on the Sterling Hwy and take your immediate left (between Holiday Gas Station and Stanley Ford) on East Redoubt. Travel one mile and turn right on Swiftwater Drive. Go through the park entrance to the rear and park left across from the boat launch area in the “day-use parking”. Walk down to the Alaska fishing boat launch to meet your guide. Pay your parking fee on arrival or departure.
